  Just plain awful

  The cast is what made me give this a shot.Where to begin... God, this movie is just so bad. The humor is terrible, predictable, and it's all been done before. And been done better.The acting was so overdone, even for a parody movie. In fact, everything was overdone. This should have been a Disney Channel original movie. It even has those constant cartoonish sound effects, probably intended to be cute, that just come off as childish.Two stars for quality of the photography, sound work, background music, etc. Meaning that basically it doesn't look like an independent home movie, but rather does look like it cost some substantial money to make. But a Hollywood budget does not a good movie make, and if that needed proving, this movie's done it.

  this one will split your sides!

  There are no words to describe just how amazing this film is. It salutes respectfully the blaxploitation era and the actors, with a clever hint of satire ( whereby the baddie is a White rich man, keeping black people down..) but most importantly it has the best jokes I have ever seen - just remembering Issac Hayes putting all those guns in his pockets then tripping and being shot to death by ALL his own guns, brings a tear to my eye. Fantastic.Please go see this film, I just happened to perchance the film, with my Mum and brother late one night on TV, and I really wanna buy it, but I dont know where it would still sell.If anyone does know please post it in the comments.Cheers

  Good old fashioned, hard-hitting action

  If you're not already a Charles Bronson fan, this film isn't likely to change your mind. But for those of you like their action films with side-burns, bell bottoms and good old fashioned,hard-hitting action, you'll really enjoy this. Bronson does his "Dirty Harry" impression while investigating a strange ring of murders involving ex-vietnam vets and the Mob. Great car chases. The crazy car crack up inside a parking lot is this film's action highlight. One of my favorite Bronson flicks.

  Clever, visually tight movie

  Cypher was a movie I was looking forward to after I had read some comments here about it's story being like the works Philip K. Dick, an author whose paranoid tales I love to read.As far as plot twists go Cypher never disappointed me, even though the last plot twist was a bit out there, it had a very cool ending that was very satisfying. The level of suspense was ok, this movie was not a nailbiter but it has really nice atmosphere at times with the opening music theme and the many shady operatives. A thinking man's movie as well, you need to pay attention throughout the movie or you will lose track. No problem in the DVD-age I would say. Overall it was acted very well. Jeremy Northam and Lucy Liu definitely deserve movies as good as this, although they don't seem to have found that many in their careers. Visually the movie is stunning, it is filmed very tight and stylish, with a few well-dosed effects. This movie probably had a relatively modest budget but it looks awesome. Overall this was a very pleasant movie experience. 8 out of 10

  Just Better than Average

  This movie was fun and entertaining but I think people are getting a little ahead of themselves in some of these reviews. Its not the greatest modern horror film or even the greatest horror film of the year. Its just mindless fun. Try not to take it as anything more than that and you should like it.The acting is pretty bad but we cant really expect much, I suppose. However, Robert Englund was pretty good. The story is an interesting idea but I think it takes too long to get going, about a full hour and then were left with about 15 minutes of actual action. Normally I like slow moving films but not when Im promised a "fun" movie.
